One of the most interesting Greek Fables is that of Pygmalion "the sculptor". It is a story of true inspiration and how an artist can make something inanimate become alive. It demonstrates how the power of passion when channeled constructively can transform and make something beautiful. Well, if you don't know the story of Pygmalion it is basically a sculptor falling in love with his own work. He made a statue in the image of Aphrodite, the great goddess of love, and because of his devotion and commitment in creating this masterpiece, Aphrodite granted his wish and transformed his statue into human flesh and made her his wife.
