As a Halloween tradition each year Pete Johnson releases a new cigar for his Tatuaje Monster Series. For 2011 it is the Wolfman- a box pressed torpedo sporting a Sumatra wrapper and an unwrapped foot. This cigar is rolled at the Garcia family’s My Father Cigars S.A. factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. The Wolfman is made with all-Nicaraguan filler and binder tobaccos with a Sumatra Ecuador wrapper. A release of 666 numbered boxes of cigars each containing 13 smokes are available via 13 brick-and-mortar retailers chosen via a lottery system. However, due to a large demand, I heard that these numbers were increased for this year. The Wolfman has a perfect draw and smokes with a pleasant aroma. I detected a small shift in complexity and got a few hints of Cocoa and coffee here and there. Overall it is a reliable and steady smoke that is extremely enjoyable. I think this cigar has a universal appeal that will attract a range of smokers.
