The fonseca brand started in Cuba, but since 1965 it started being made in the Dominican Republic by Manuel Quesada and Juan Sosa. The Cuban fonseca was created in 1907 by Don Fransico. The Cuban fonseca comes encased in white tissue giving it a very elegant look. Also the Cuban cigar boxes feature the Havana's morro castle and NY's Statue of liberty reflecting the time when these cities had a positive relationship.
