Cigar Box Stamps

Three Cohiba Cigars
Hecho en Cuba replaced the English inscription "Made in Havana-Cuba" since 1961. In 1989 the words "Totalmente a Mano" meaning totally by hand were added. This provides info that the cigars are handmade in the traditional Cuban manner. In the European Union "Hecho a Mano" can be described in part  as cigars  made by hand and machine made. Likewise, non-havana boxes will read "Envulelto a mano" which means hand -packed and the cigars may not be made totally by hand, so in order to get authentic hand rolled cigars is a matter of trusting your cigar merchant.
