The tobacco plant is genetically stable and remain pure from generation to generation; however, if Cuban seed tobacco is transported to Columbia and planted the taste would not be identical even though it is the same strain from Cuba. Like wine, tobacco is affected by soil and climate and produce variations in flavor for cigars. Cigar smoke can deliver a variety of flavors like food and wine and share the same vocabulary to describe these complex flavors in gourmet cuisine.
