The arehipelago of Indonesia is the source of the wrapper leaf known as Sumatra-seed ( or java -seed), which is now grown in a number of places around the world.  Actual Sumatra-grown wrapper tobacco is usually dark brown in color and neutal in flavor; it's largely used in the manufacture of small cigars.  The Philippines, Indonesia's neighbor to the northeast, produces a hybrid strain of cigar tobacco that is mild in flavor but very aromatic.
